How To Apply For The No Objection Certificate ?

For obtaining the No Objection certificate for the Industrial Units, Trading Centers, Educational Institutions, Hospitals, Clinics, etc. the applicants has to apply to The Divisional Fire Officer, Fire Service Department, Puducherry along with the details of activities/business the sketch of the site building with other details. On receipt of application the certificate will be issued within the stipulated time based on the National Building Code (Part 4 Fire and Life Safety).

Recommendations for the issue of licence to industrial establishments:- The licensing authorities, District Magistrate, Commissioner of Municipalities and other agencies are consulting Fire Service Department before issue of licence for all the trades and industries involving fire risk and issue of licence. The Fire Service Department after actual inspection of the premises and suggesting proper fire fighting arrangements to the concerned, issue ‘No Objection Certificate’ to the licensing authorities after ensuring the fire safety.

Fire Fighting And Rescue Operation

Puducherry Fire Service Department is basically an Emergency Service Department, whose functions are multifarious and emergency oriented. Besides emergency service function, it has Statutory, Regulatory and Advisory functions also.On the Emergency Service side, the prime duty of the Department is to fight the fire incidents and rescue life and property from the danger, damage and destruction caused by fire. Its emergency services are extended to Standby duties during carnivals and festivals, VVIP visits, industrial /chemical/environmental disasters etc. The Department attend to transportation rescue calls related to emergencies like road, rail, air and water transport accident, accidental fall into wells, drowning in ponds/rivers/sea, building collapses, LPG and other poisonous gas leaks during transportations, victim trapped in lifts/cliffs and otherwise, other natural and man-made disasters etc .

1. Fire Fighting

Fire fighting service of this Department is absolutely free. The public have to inform the details of fire incidents including address and way to reach the site through telephone or any other mode.

2. Rescue Operations

This department save valuable life of human being and other lives without any fees.

Standby Duty

This Fire Service is sending vehicles and crew for standby duties as fire safety precautions during public gatherings at the time of Kumbabishegam, Exhibition, Circus and VVIP’s visit etc.
